About WOM

WOM is one of the largest online auction platforms for accident vehicles in Europe. More than 450,000 vehicles are remarketed on the platform every year. WOM’s customers include leading insurance companies, automotive expert organisations, fleet operators and professional vehicle dealers. To this end, WOM offers an extensive portfolio of services in the field of motor vehicle claims management and is gradually expanding its international business together with its partner Copart Inc.

History

2021

In July, WOM reaches over 50,000 listings within one month for the first time in the company's history! With now more than 100 employees and new structures, the offices in Karlsbad simply do not fit WOM anymore and after a long search for new offices, the move to Karlsruhe takes place on November 2nd.

2020

Kai Siersleben is the new managing director of WOM WreckOnlineMarket GmbH and Copart Deutschland GmbH. WOM has now cracked the 100-employee mark and once again received the data protection seal of approval for DSGVO-compliant processing of personal data. Another highlight follows in September: the new version of the WOM 2.0 auction platform is launched, which brings with it a new, more user-friendly design as well as many new functions and features.

2018

In April 2018, WOM registered its 3,000,000th vehicle. We are proud of this achievement and are especially grateful to our customers who made it possible!

2015

At the end of March 2015, the data protection seal of approval for quality and security was awarded to WOM with an outstanding result because of data conformity. This makes us the first salvage exchange platform with this award and has proven that all vehicle and insurance data is in good hands with us.

2014

WOM Aktiengesellschaft is renamed WOM GmbH.  Alain van Münster is now managing director.

2013

Alain van Münster becomes the new chair of WOM. With 45 employees the premises in Ettlingen became too small and WOM moved to a larger building in Karlsbad.

2012

WOM is acquired by Copart Inc, the world’s leading provider of online live auctions for accident vehicles. With this strong partner at its side, the international business was to be successively expanded with immediate effect.

2011

For the first time, WOM’s vehicle stock exceeds the mark of 1000 newly registered vehicles per day.

2008

Relocation of the meanwhile 15 employees to the new company headquarters in Ettlingen.

2005

Founding of WOM WreckOnlineMarket AG in Baden-Baden.
